    Dr. Kelly Hutchison

    Co-Owner

Dr. Kelly Hutchison received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from North Carolina State University (2011), Certification in Canine Rehabilitation Therapy from the Canine Rehabilitation Institute (2013) and Certification in Veterinary Medical Acupuncture from Colorado State University (2017). She is currently pursuing certification as a Certified Canine Pain Practitioner (CVPP). When not working, Dr. Kelly loves spending time outdoors with her family hiking and camping.

Prior to her veterinary career, Dr. Hutchison was an English major and spent 2 years in Hawaii teaching kindergarten and 6th grade English summer school. Though she did not stay in the field of human teaching, she credits this time in her life with providing the foundation of her passion for connecting with ‘parents’ and helping them to understand what’s happening with their furry companions.

Dr. Hutchison loves to read and often comes home from her day with books lent to her by clients. She is so thankful that White Whiskers has provided her the opportunity to better help her patients and to connect with her “pet parents” on a whole new level.

    Dr. Robert Hutchison

    Co-Owner

Dr. Robert Hutchison is a Duke University alumni, received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from North Carolina State University (2013) and completed a residency in comparative anatomic veterinary pathology at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center (2016) to nearly round out a North Carolina ACC collegiate experience.

Dr. Robert has been proud to assist the pet owners of the Front Range through a number of end of life services over the years. He welcomes the opportunity to continue to comfort, listen and celebrate with the dedicated dog and cat owners of Colorado Springs. He is currently pursuing his certification in animal hospice and palliative care in an effort to continue to bring both his patients and their owners the very highest quality of guidance and aid through those challenging sunset months.

Although they didn’t meet in veterinary school, Dr. Robert did follow Dr. Kelly into the veterinary world prior to their marriage. Before embarking on his veterinary career, he was writing and producing network television for the Discovery and National Geographic networks, during which he had the opportunity to meet a whole cast of colorful characters, many of whom you may be familiar with (notoriously or otherwise). Dr. Robert also spent several years after his undergraduate studies “shovel bumming” in the field of contract archeology which may not have been worthy of a George Lucas plot, but was an adventure nonetheless.

Dr. Robert is honored to embark on this journey with his family and with yours.

    Emily Todd

    Office Manager

Emily is a graduate of Colorado Academy of Veterinary Technology where she received her associate of applied science in veterinary technology. She also obtained a bachelor of fine arts from Colorado State University. For the past several years, she has worked as a certified veterinary technician at a beloved local practice. Emily is a firm believer that all pets deserve compassionate geriatric and end-of-life care. She is grateful for the opportunity to help facilitate this kind of care for pet owners and their beloved four-legged family members.

Emily and her husband spend a vast majority of their time raising their inquisitive, precocious boy, Dexter. Though her four-legged companion Monster is no longer here, his legacy has left a lasting mark on Emily’s heart and has grown her love of senior pets. A new arrival, Duncan the border collie, has big shoes to fill. In her spare time, Emily enjoys films, podcasts, making art, and playing the piano

    Kelli Haskins

    Rescue Coordinator

Kelli is a Colorado native with a passion for running, paddle boarding, and all things outdoors. She married her husband Chris in 2017 after welcoming their son Carter in 2014. Kelli had over 7 years of experience working in veterinary clinics in positions ranging from client care to practice management before finding her calling in animal rescue work and end-of-life support. Prior to coming to White Whiskers, Kelli helped hundreds of loving pet owners find the support they needed to help their companions pass with dignity.

We are thrilled to have Kelli assist us in setting up new relationships with our area rescue organizations so that White Whiskers can continue its mission of giving to the dogs and cats of the Greater Colorado Springs area.

Kelli is very passionate about all things animal, but especially senior animal adoption. Kelli and her family adopted their first senior dog, a goofy yellow lab named Max in 2016. Learning to care for him and all of his needs as an old man developed Kelli’s passion for senior animal care.  Kelli and her family currently share their home with three dogs and lots of fish!

    Fiona Hutchison

    CEO

My name is Fiona and I am in the 3rd grade. I wanted to be a part of this project because people’s pets deserve to live a good life and to feel good. I experienced the loss of my old dog when I was in kindergarten and I know how it feels. I want other people to know that where their pet is going is a good place where they’re going to be free and that they are happy.

    From Dr. Kelly

After more than 10 years as a primary care veterinarian, I felt a lack of satisfaction in the level of care I was able to provide my senior animals. The high-paced speed of general practice within a traditional brick and mortar setting often left me feeling as though my senior patients and their owners weren’t receiving the level of care that I wanted to give them. These patients usually came into the appointment with more than one medical condition that affected their quality of life, multiple medications with a variety of side effects that often played off each other, owners who struggled to understand why their beloved pet was experiencing these changes and were often anxious about how to know which changes were inevitable and which ones were causing unnecessary discomfort.

White Whiskers Aging Pet Care seeks to help our aging pets by providing the kind of dedicated support to this important pet population that the traditional veterinary model cannot regularly provide. We have purposely built a practice that has the time to address the many specialized needs of older pets and their owners and we want you to be part of our family. We look forward to the opportunity to show you just how brightly these golden years can shine.
